Stakeholder Analysis and Participation

Stakeholders--those who make decisions about resource management or are affected by the consequences--are an essential part of integrated assessments. Stakeholder participation includes a variety of means of raising awareness, identifying objectives, agreeing criteria and policy, and building adaptive capacity. Analysis of stakeholders--who they are, what decisions they may take regarding climate change, what research would support those decisions, how they interact with each other, etc.--should inform projects on adaptation.
