Bekele Shiferaw, International Livestock Research Institute, Ethiopia - The START Young Scientist Award was given to Dr. Shiferaw for his paper: "Soil erosion and smallholders' conservation decisions in the highlands of Ethiopia," in World Development 1999, 27(4): 739-752.
