Haimanti Biswas, of the University of Calcutta, India, studying “Effect of elevated atmospheric CO2 on nitrogen fixation by marine cyanobacteium Trichodesmium.” She will undertake her research visit at Institute of Marine Research, Kiel Germany

Abebe Getahun, of Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia, studying “Biodiversity and Conservation status of fishes of the Blue Nile and Tekeze basins, Ethiopia.” He will undertake his research visit at Wageneninen Institute of Animal Sciences, the Netherlands.

Nednapa Insalud, of Chiang Mai University, Thailand, studying “Closing the yield gap for rice in water saving rice production through improved understanding of the adaptation of rice roots to changing water regimes.” She will undertake her visit at Murdoch University, Australia.

Pratima Mohan Kessarkar, of National Institue of Oceanography, India, studying “Indian monsoon variability and its relation with ENSO and EQUNIOO during the late Quaternary.” She will undertake her visit at University of Wollongong, Australia.

Gorges Kouadio, of Université de Cocody, Cote D'Ivoire, studying “Air - sea CO2 fluxes in the Gulf Guinea.” He will undertake his visit at Université Pierre Marie Curie, France.

Jyoti Kulkarni, of the Center for Energy and Environmental policy at the University of Delaware, USA, studying “Climate Vulnerability and Adaptation.” She will undertake her visit at the Start Secretariat in Washington, DC.

Francisco Meza, of the College of Agricuklture, Catholic University of Chile, studying “Economic value of Seasonal Climate Forecasts for Agriculure: Review of Evidence and Recommendatins for Future research.” He will undertake his visit at the International Research Institute for Climate Prediction at Columbia University, New York.

Jorge Sanchez-Sesma, of the Intituo Mexicano de Technologia del Agua, studying “Hurricane Climate Variability: Reconstruction and Analysis of North Western Atlantic (NWA) Hurricane Frequencies, North Atlantic Oscillation, ENSO, Large Scale Temperatures and Other Related Phenomena Covering the Last Millennium. He will undertake his visit at University of Bern, Switzerland.

Levania Santoso, of the Center for International Forestry Research, Indonesia will attend Alternet summer school in Provence, France.

Olivia Tanujaya, of Yayasang Pealngi, Indonesia, studying “The 2006 IHDP/IDGEC Synthesis Conference.” She will undertake her visit at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Zhan Tian, of the Institue of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, studying “Assessing the impact of climate change on crop water productivity in Huang-Hai Plain in China.” He will undertake his visit at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, Austria.

Prasnee Tipraqsa, of Hehenheim University, Germany, studying “The case of the Karen in upper tributary watersheds of Northern Thailand.” He will undertake her visit at Chiang Mai University, Thailand.

Xue-Fa Wen, of Chinese Academy of Sciences, studying “Experimental and Modeling Study of Ecosystem -Atmosphere Oxygen Isotopic Fluxes and Discrimination Mechanisms.” He will undertake his visit at Yale University, USA.
