Capacity Building Programs: African Doctoral Fellowships

Former or current recipients of START African Doctoral Fellowship grants to present papers during a special session at the 4th IGBP Congress 5-9 May 2008.

These participants are supported by START to attend the congress as well as present their papers at Working Group Session B5, entitled "Young African Scientists' Session on Global Environmental Change (GEC) Research in Africa" to take place on 8 May 2008. This session is intended to showcase the research on GEC being conducted by young African scientists who have benefited from START fellowships, promote interaction between young African Scientists and ESSP family representatives, and enhance networking and collaboration. All were selected by committee based on submission of abstracts. More information on the congress and the special session available here.


There will be no Calls for Proposals for African Doctoral Fellowships during 2008.
